18 September 2010 // Waiheke!

19 Sep

The whole country was under severe storm warning all weekend long but we decided that shouldn’t be enough to cancel our weekend plans and caught the ferry to waiheke island on saturday morning to go wine tasting anyway.

Waiheke must be some sort of weird micro-climate because, other than a bit of strong wind and the occasional drops of rain, there were no signs of storm – and if I hadn’t stayed at home on Friday night and hadn’t felt the full effect of the storm then, I wouldn’t believe it had happened.

This vineyard was our first stop – and what a gorgeous place it was.

The boots got a bit muddy (and were way worse than this by the end of the day) but it was a great day trip – and one that I should remember to do more often.
